- About the Artist:
Marla started out as a visual artist and has an MFA in printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design. She primarily made large-scale, thematic, abstract, conceptual prints that you had to stand far back to appreciate. In 2000, she went to Paris for five days and bought a very heavy, sculptural silver ring. She’s worn it every day for the past 10 years. She’s had such an intimate relationship with this piece that is became her inspiration to design jewelry because she wanted to give people the experience of feeling close to their art.
